On Father’s Day, I found out that my cousin John was going to go to the shooting range the next day. So I told my sister, and we invited ourselves to tag along with him! Thankfully he agreed to take us along **phew**.
Monday morning me and Esther got outselves up in the early morning (something I haven’t done in forever) and drove to my cousins place in Murrieta (just a short 50 min drive). We came in with Starbucks in our hand and mini doughnuts for the kids. I don’t actually drink coffee so I pretended with my spiced apple cider 😉
John showed us the basics and safety protocols of handling weapons. Both Esther and I have never shot guns before.
Then it was off to the range! I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to bring my camera or not, so I didn’t come in full gear. Just my wide angle zoom lens.
Here we are.
Esther.
Me.
A couple of the guns that we used. We got to play with some .22’s and .45’s.
John teaching Esther how to put the bullets in the magazine.
John showing Esther how to shoot the gun.
Esther’s turn!
My turn!
John’s turn!
We didn’t just tag along with John, but he was there to meet up with his buddies/coworkers. (John’s in the police force)
Me and my sister learned that gun’s is definitely a guys thing. It’s like how girls are about shoes and bags.
We also got to play with some of these. ARs? I don’t remember.
And you if you know me, I have to do something creative. 🙂
We got to play with the big guns too!
And we went to the other side of the range.
I got to join in too!
We also got to learn about the different types of bullets there are.
I had a lot of fun at the range! I want to go back! but it definitely does a number on your arms. The bigger guns I couldn’t shoot for too long because it got too heavy for me.
For me, the .22 was easier and I was able to hit more targets, for Esther it was the .45 where she hit more targets.
Thanks John for teaching us how to handle and shoot guns! I can’t wait to go again! 🙂
xoxo
