First Annual RMD Cup (Fluxx, F6ix, Side bar, Ciros) — San Diego, CA

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

RMD had their first annual RMD Cup! What is the RMD Cup? It’s all of RMD’s venues — Fluxx, F6ix, Side Bar, and Ciros (Gaslamp and PB) all competing against each other.

Each Venue came up with a theme, and dressed to it.

And what were they competing at? There was tug-o-war, water balloons toss, planks, paper plates, volley ball, and a giant inflatable obstacle course!

Being an F6ix employee, I have more pictures of F6ix than the other venues. Sorry Fluxx, Side Bar and Ciros. I have to represent!

F6ix’s theme was Nerdwatch (Baywatch with a twist of nerd)

What’s a corporate event without the alcohol?

Photo with a real lifeguard and truck.

Side Bar came as border patrol and illegal immigrants. It was pretty creative.

Ciros

I just like this picture. He totally wasn’t posing. They were in deep conversation! :p

Time for the games!

Tug-o-war!

I love how Mikey G is encouraging the guys!

Planks.

Strategizing for water balloon toss.

Ok, so the balloons popping make more of an interesting photo then actually catching them without them popping.

Volley Ball

Paper Plates

Obstacle course

Not part of the competition, but there was some flip cup happening.

The winners, Side Bar.

The prizes for the raffle.

There was a tv, mountain bike, snow boards, poker table with chips, grills, and lots of other goodies! I won the mountain bike! That was what I really wanted and was hoping to win! :D

That’s it for the pictures on my blog! I will have my facebook page with the rest of the photos so people can tag themselves!

Agnes’ Bat Mitzvah – BCBG/Herve Leger Max Azria’s Daughter

Friday, July 29th, 2011

So over a year ago, while I was living in Los Angeles, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to shoot a Bat Mitzvah. I said sure! because I’ve never done one. He gave me the address, and I ended up at some mansion in Bel Air. I get there and my friend’s not there yet. So I texted him and asked him where exactly I was, and who’s bat mitzvah it was. I just so happened to be at the home of Max Azria (the guy behind the clothing line Herve Leger, and BCBG, just to name a few). And it was his daughters bat mitzvah.

So I never signed my 2nd shooter contract, even though I asked for it **cough, George cough**

So I don’t want to get in trouble for posting these photos. So 1. If someone from the Azria group has a problem with these photos being up, please let me know and I will take them down immediately. 2. I will not be posting photos of people’s faces. As this event was a private event, I will keep its guests private.

You can also find more at Teen Vogue as there was a photographer from there covering the event as well and I saw an article a while back (you know, when the bat mitzvah actually happened).

The party had a candy theme and of course took place at their home. The set up was nicely done with a white tent on their tennis court.

Agnes’ cake

And some of the decor.

I wish I could post photos of people, because everyone was having so much fun. But I’ll leave the guests and everything up to your imagination. :)

Comic Con 2011 — San Diego, CA

Monday, July 25th, 2011

I have never been to Comic Con before. This was my first time, and what an experience!

Originally, me and my friend decided to just go and take pictures outside of the convention center to take pictures of everyone going inside. While we were doing that, we scored some passes and went in. And all I can say is wow!  However, I do think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I was into all of the stuff that was there. It was kind of embarassing to be like OOOH Star Wars/Batman/Mattel , I know what that is! It would have been a lot cooler of me to have known all the other things!

Anyways, you get to join me in my adventure of Comic Con! This was Day 1 of Comic Con (the only day I ended up going)

There were soo many people for a friday afternoon.

Made it inside and it was even crazier!

So this was pretty cool. The actors from a show I actually knew of, The Finder. I only know of this because I watch bones and there was an episode where they were introducing these characters for this show.

Geoffry Stults and Michale Clarke Duncan.

Never thought you’d see this scenario huh?

Angry birds dolls. I was soo tempted to buy a few and play a game ;p

Pirates of the Caribbean

Back to the Future

The Hulk

The actors of True Blood. Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten. I wish I actually watched this show. I should start, I’ve heard it’s good.

I used to play SSX. In real life, I stink at snowboarding.

I used to play Street Fighter too.

We left the showroom and went upstairs to where the panels were happening. There were soo many people waiting in line that we decided not to go to a panel.

So, instead we just took pictures.

Noah Wyle

Only during Comic Con are you standing behind Batman while going down the escalator.

Star Wars. I still need to watch it! I think I’ve only watched #1 :/

And lastly, me and a transformer.

Jordan’s 1st Birthday Party — Garden Grove, CA

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

Ok, so I know everyone is sick and tired of my vacation photos. Sooo now that I’m back in the states, I’m back to doing events!!

So I came back just in time to be the photographer at Jordan’s First Birthday Party! His mom Jenn is a family friend of mine.

It was a traditional asian first birthday- For koreans ‘dohl’

I love cute cakes!

This one was for Jordan to dip his fingers into and try to eat.

Here’s the birthday boy

Jordan with his parents

A cute family photo.

Jayden, the older brother is super cute. While taking photos he said “awkward”. And then from there, it got kind of awkward ;p

Jordan with one of Jenn’s friends.

So adorable with the hat!

Jayden’s pretty good at smiling for the camera

The kids got little goody bags that had play dough in it. They thought it would be a cool idea to put the play dough on their party hats.

Changing from the traditional Korean hanbok to a suit.

Getting ready for some cake!

Jayden’s totally ready to blow those candles out for his little brother.

I love my brother!

And now it’s time to figure out what Jordan’s future will be like.

There are items placed on the table which have some meaning to them about what is held in store for them in the future.

Jordan grabbed a calculator=he’s going to be smart.

And money = he’s going to be rich.

Chris (his dad) was really excited that his son was going to be rich. Jenn’s response to the high five? He’s going to be rich, not us!

Now its time for some cake!

Jordan didn’t cake cake all over him. I suggested they just smash his face into the cake. Chris and Jenn decided not to take my suggestion :/

I’m currently uploading all the photos from this event to Pictage (the online gallery host I use). Once it’s done and ready, guests and family and friends of this event can ask me for the link so they can see their faces :)

Vacationing in the Philippines Part 2 — Manila, Philippines (Robinson Mall)

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

Sorry that this post took so long. My website is blocked in China so I couldn’t update while I was there!

So here are some more photos from my Philippines trip.

So this day, I went to the mall. Robinsons mall and there was something crazzzzzy going on! There were crowds of people, so of course I had to shove my way and see what all the commotion was about.

It was kind of like San Diego’s comicon, but not!

I was wondering why I was walking around the mall and seeing people dressed up. I thought it was really weird just seeing a handful of people wearing costumes until I saw these crowds of people.

And then I took a few random pictures of people in costume. There were just waaay too many people for me to whip out my camera and take a good shot.  So these arent good shots ;p

I promise to update really soon. Tomorrow is my last full day in Korea. Once I get back to the states, all I’ll have is time :)

But I will try to update at least one more time before I leave :) (But I’ve decided not to take my camera out tomorrow because I have a lot of last minute errands I need to run. So the next post will be from the Philippines)

2010 December UCSD Alumni Mixer– Seoul, South Korea

Saturday, December 18th, 2010

One of my coworkers told me about a UCSD Alumni Mixer and she asked me if I wanted to go. I said sure! And I invited another one of my friends to go with me. And I ran into another friend of mine and another person I knew unexpectedly! Such a small world!

This should be a majority of us. It wasn’t a big gathering, but it’s still nice to know that there’s people herei n Korea that went to UCSD.

So we had dinner at a restaurant. And there was a darts board, so a few of s played darts! and of course, my team won! ;p

I love Amy’s expression.

Getting shown how to play darts.

Figuring out the scores.

The losing team

Me and Shinyoung and Amy.

Anyways, that’s it. It’s always great to meet up with people that share something in common with you.

G20 Seoul Summit 2010- Electronic exhibition in Seoul, South Korea

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

the G20 Summit 2010 was in Seoul this year. Everywhere you went, you see signs, banners, billboards, anything for the G20 Summit.

So while I was at City Hall, me and my uncle saw these white spherical domes. We got curious as to what it was, so we went into it.

It was a type of technology exhibition.

Upon entering the dome there was a display of the history of television.

Well first it went from the gramaphone.

Then the first tv’s that Korea had. My uncle told me not too many people had a tv back then. Only a handful of people had tv’s.

He told me that my grandfather (his uncle) was one of the few people that had a tv in their homes because he was a councilman. It’s pretty cool, I really like learning about my family, especially about my grandfather (may he rest in peace).

So the timeline says Europe-1936, U.S.-1938, Korea-1956

The first tv on the left is a color tv but Saumsung.

Then the Analog tv.

And then the current types of tv.

Samsungs version of the Ipad- Galaxy Tab. (I’m debating if I want to get an Ipad or the Galaxy Tab– I’m definitely loyal to my brands- Apple and Canon– but I’m in Korea. I feel like I should be loyal to this country ;) )

the 3D magic book. Where you touch the computer screen and swipe your fingers to turn the page. Technology these days. I think it’s all really cool and all, but I think I will make my kids read from actual books. I don’t like reading from my Iphone and I don’t think I would buy a kindle because I like holding the actual book when I’m reading.

(sorry my photos aren’t up to their usual standards. There were just a lot of people so I didn’t want to get in their way)

The worlds first Nano 3D Tv.

The world’s largets full LED 3D tv. It looks like it’s a game of Halo or something like that.

It’s pretty cool how technology has come along. Sometimes though, I like the simpler things in life.

City Hall Part 2 –festivals — Seoul, South Korea

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

While I was at City Hall with my uncle, there was a type of festival going on on the lawn. Apparently, where this lawn is, is kind of unique to Korea because it’s just a grassy lawn. Because Korea is such a small country, with a lot of people, having unused land is kind of a waste.

Anyways, it was pretty cool.

I saw a lady painting a ceramic bowl in traditional korean clothing (hanbok)

Ladies embroidering.

We got there as the festival was ending. So everyone was walking out.

And I saw some kids playing with kites.

Being able to see these kinds of things gets me all giddy because even though I’m not good at history, I like seeing how things were done in the past and how they are done in the present. And just being able to see hand made paintings, embroideries.

National Geographic Exhibit in Seocho — Seoul, South Korea

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

I started reading the Korean news (not in Korean but in English). And while i was reading the news, I came across an article about there being an exhibit on National Geographics.

The exhibition is called “Life and Nature through the Lens”. It was divded into 4 sections —  landscape, wildlife, premonitor, and alternative.

If you don’t know me, one of my life goals is to get a photo of mine published in National Geographic Magazine. How awesome would that be?

Anyways, the exhibition was at the Hangaram Arts Museum at the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-dong.

I love Korea and it’s public transportation.

This is part of the walk from the Subway to the Museum.

I love how the leaves are changing colors.

This was a beautiful walk. I felt like i was in the movies on a nice fall day.

After 15-20 mins of walking, we finally reached the Seoul Arts Center (I dragged my buddy Eugene with me, the one that was just visiting for the weekend).

This was some type of art display in one of the hallways leading to the exhibit.

Finally made it to the exhibition

Cameras were not allowed to be used inside. So I just took a few pictures of the walls while waiting in line.

I was really impressed by some of the photos that were inside the exhibit.

I learned that as a photographer I just have to be really patient at times to capture that awesome and epic moment.

I believe the exhibition is running untilthe beginning of December.

For more information here’s the website www.ngphoto.co.kr

Tickets were only 10,000 won (Equivalent to $10)

IF you’re in Korea you should definitely take a look. It’s worth the 10 bucks :)
